There was something for everyone in this happiest of celebrations. Chris Huggon sang the solo in Panis Angelicus (with the choir supplying backing vocals) and Matt Maguire furnished the violin obbligato in Jesu, joy. For a number of items, including The Servant King, accompaniment was provided by a music group consisting of Daniel Bath on piano, Kevin Quigley on mandolin, Matt Maguire again on violin and Brian McNulty and Peter Eavers on guitars, with Anthony adding the organ for a big finish.

We had chant too, in the Mass Ordinary, the Litany and the odd verses in Dixit Dominus. The even numbered verses were sung to Victoria’s polyphonic setting, the choir giving particular emphasis to the words Tu es sacerdos in aeternum (you are a priest for ever).
