We had two settings of the Beatitudes—Bob Chilcott’s fiery drama, and the more serene verses from Come to me—to match the text of today’s Communion antiphon:
Blessed are the clean of heart, for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they shall be called children of God.
Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness,
for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.
(Matthew 5:8-10)
