Today saw the presentation of candidates for Confirmation and first Holy Communion next year, accompanied by our customary rite with Baptismal candles, and Bernadette Farrell’s uplifting invocation of Christ our light. In this song the line longing for truth, we turn to you referenced one of the key words in today’s Gospel reading, as did Vaughan Williams’s hauntingly simple arrangement of the Herefordshire Carol.
